Indulge in a new healthy fall dessert: Caramel Apple Date Clusters. These treats combine the sweetness of dates, the crunch of diced apples, and chocolate drizzle for a fun twist on the classic caramel apple.
Caramel Apple Date Clusters Recipe
Makes: 10 clusters
Ingredients:
10 dates
1 green apple, diced
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I like Lily’s Sweets)
1 tsp coconut oil
Pretzels, crushed
Directions:
Place chocolate chips in a bowl with coconut oil. Microwave for 1 minute or until chocolate is fully melted.
Slice each date lengthwise, remove the pit and flatten that date to create a base layer. Place each date on a parchment lined plate.
Top each date with about a tbsp of diced apple, melted chocolate and crushed pretzels.
Place in the freezer for about 5 minutes just to set the chocolate and enjoy! (Note: after 5 minutes in the freezer, keep them stored in the fridge)
